 Excel Takasago wheel sets are made up with the following quality components.
1. The Excel Takasago 32 spoke signature rim.
Excel and Honda use 32 spokes. This saves weight over the traditional 36 spoke configuration. With the creation of the straight pull spoke, these rims are in fact stronger than a 36 spoke rim with angled spokes.
2. Forged 7175-T3 wheel Hubs
The Excel pro-series wheel hub is produced from 7175-T3 Forged aluminium. This forged material gives fantastic strength that can not be matched by billet machined or cast hubs. Only Excel hubs are made from forged aluminium. Using this super strong material allows us to make the hub lighter than our competitors, but still giving a stronger finished product.
3. Japanese O.E quality spokes
Supersprox will use Hoshi spokes from Japan. These are original equipment quality spokes from the leading Japanese O.E.M producer. They are the strongest spokes in the world.
4. Spline drive nipples
Having the strongest hub and the best spokes is not enough. The wheel sets will incorporate the American spline drive nipple. A regular nipple has 4 sides and is difficult to grip. The Spline drive aluminium nipple has 6 sides and allows perfect spanner fitment and no chance of rounding the nipple whilst adjusting the tension on your spokes. Each wheel will come with a special spoke spanner to perfectly fit the Spline drive nipple.
5. Bearings, seals and spacers
Each Excel pro-series wheel-set will be complete with bearings (3xRear - 2xFront) seals and spacers. There will be carrier rings with each wheel and these rings will adapt the wheel to the customer's original sprocket and disc fitting. These rings are also made from 7175-T3 forgings, giving them fantastic strength.
The real advantage of Excel pro-series wheel sets
A consumer buys a set of wheels for his Honda and uses them through the racing season. Next year he changes to a Yamaha and he will be able to use the same wheels in that next bike. This is due to the carrier rings that can be changed a a fraction of the cost of a new set of wheels, allowing continued use what ever bike the consumer buys.
